Martha McPherson Gherardi (Master of Music, Florida State University), violinist of the Duo Internazionale and the Trio Internazionale, has years of experience playing classical, popular, and folk music as a soloist and in small ensembles and orchestras. She has performed in Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States, delighting audiences with her artistry. Martha resides in her native Florida with her husband, Luciano.
Luciano Gherardi is the accordionist of the Duo Internazionale and bassist for the Trio Internazionale. A native of Italy, he is a diplomate of the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory of Music, Turin, Italy and the "José Angel Lamas" Superior School of Music, Caracas, Venezuela. He has been involved in virtually every facet of the music profession from symphonic performances, popular and folk music performances, studio recordings, musical composition for films and publicity, and serving as a Judge at the International Accordion World Cup Competition. Luciano arranges the music performed by the Duo and Trio.
Bedford Watkins, pianist of the Trio Internazionale, holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Piano from Illinois Wesleyan University where he held the position of Chairman of the Piano Department at the School of Music. An Arkansas native, this accomplished pianist is also active as an organist, harpsichordist, and composer. Bedford has served as a church organist for more than 30 years and presently is the organist at the historic Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola, Florida.
